Job Description:

Summary: Responsible for coordinating the evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient groups, ensuring their effective, efficient, and safe operation in accordance with standards of care. Responsibilities include the provision of direct services as assigned.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the American Disability Act (ADA).

  • Monitors evening groups and all aspects of IOP ensuring that contract requirements (CSSD, DCF) are met. Monitors IOP census, UDS results, transfers/discharges, reporting to referral sources. Intervenes during crises/difficult situations and provides support to staff.
  • Assists in auditing clients’ records for inclusion of all elements such as treatment plan reviews, and with Clinical Services Director (CSD), assures that records are maintained in accordance with accepted standards.
  • Maintains a client caseload as assigned, which may include individual, IOP and OP groups and performs psychosocial evaluations as needed.
  • Facilitates referrals within and outside of the agency and helps to maintain relationships with referral sources, acting as liaison and attending community meetings as assigned.
  • Assists in facilitating evening IOP meetings with CSD and/or Co-Occurring Program Supervisor, ensuring that minutes are kept and client issues are presented and followed up; attends staff meetings, clinical meetings and supervisory sessions as assigned

  • Consults/collaborates with clinical supervisor, psychiatric providers, medical personnel and other staff members regarding client care.
  • Provides data and reports as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and crisis intervention skills.
  • Cultural and ethnic sensitivity essential; ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills; highly organized.

Education and/or Experience: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related behavioral health field. State of Connecticut mental health or drug and alcohol license required. Three years’ experience in drug and alcohol counseling.

Generally, the working conditions are good with little or no exposure to extremes in health, safety hazards and/or hazardous materials. This person must have the ability to travel as required to work with staff.
