Job Description:

Summary: Maintain an atmosphere of confidentiality and professionalism when greeting patient within the Behavioral Health department. Ascertain the patients and directs them accordingly. Ensures smooth flow of patients to a provider.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

 

  • Responsible for receptionist functions including greeting, checking- in and checking-out clients, answering telephone, scheduling appointments, as needed, maintaining professional front desk area.
  • Verify patient’s demographics and financial information.
  • Enter encounter data into EPM system including group scheduling.
  • Prepare fee tickets, complete charge entry, and scan appropriate documentation into NextGen system.
  • Reconcile encounters with kept appointments. Assure that all encounters are processed in a timely manner. Follow up on "outstanding" encounters
  • Handle cash, collect co-pays and reconcile payments daily.
  • Ensure that front desk area is stocked with appropriate inventory (e.g. UDS material, intake packages).
  • Provider coverage at BH sites as needed
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health terminology and coding.
  • Proficient with computer and capable of utilizing NextGen Electronic Practice Management System effectively.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or Business Institute Certificate or two years relevant experience.

Generally, the working conditions are good with little or no exposure to extremes in health, safety hazards and/or hazardous materials. This person must have the ability to travel as required to work with staff.
